Linear Friction Welding

Linear process enables friction welding of non-circular sections.Linear Friction Welding (LFW) of steel, aluminum, aluminum copper friction welding, titanium and other materials. Linear friction welding is now being applied worldwide by major aeroengine manufacturers for joining turbine blades to discs. These are made from titanium and nickelbased alloys. Also a variety of other materials can be joined by linear friction welding, e.g. steels, stainless steels and aluminium. An additional advantage is that even combinations of these materials can be joined. Using the LFW machines these benefits can also be exploited in other industrial sectors, such as the automotive, power generation and metals refining industry.
